Christiana Care – OB/GYN Visiting Clerkship Program

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Office of Health Equity support the development of underrepresented minorities in medicine through a four-week elective rotation. We will sponsor up to three (3), 4th-year medical students with an interest in obstetrics and gynecology with additional exposure to leadership in administration. Christiana Care defines underrepresented minorities in medicine as American Indian, Alaskan Native, Black or African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander.

Program Description

  • Rotations will take place within the ob/gyn department
  • Rotations will be scheduled based on student and program availability
  • Students will be partnered with a mentor and resident throughout their rotation
  • Students will be scheduled for a 30-45 minute meeting with the ob/gyn residency program director
  • Accommodations will be provided Monday-Thursday of the rotation and a stipend of $1500 will be provided to cover additional travel and accommodation expenses.
