I am from a village in Kenya called “Komungu”. This small rural village is within the Luo tribal boundaries, and as such, I consider myself a Luo as well as a Kenyan.
When I entered the US, I chased my passion for biomedical research. Down the line I found a passion for medicine and translational cancer research. It became clear that a combined degree would allow me to achieve both while bringing novel and beneficial discoveries to patients’ bedside.
Even though I consider myself an introvert at heart, I am most joyful when spending time with friends and family. If those I care about are happy, I am, too.
