44th Historia Medica: Urban Health and the History of Public Hospitals in the US

5:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m.

Urban health status has been highly linked with the health of urban public hospitals in the US. Similarly, the persistence of health disparities has been intricately linked with the collapse of core public health services provided by public hospitals. This lecture will explore the history of US public hospitals and the association with urban ills, with a particular focus on the St. Louis region.

Dr. Will Ross presents “Urban Health and the History of Public Hospitals in the US.” The lecture and reception that follows are free and open to the public.
