2016 Health Professions Fair

9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

The Health Professions Fair provides a forum for students from a broad cross section of St. Louis city and county high schools to explore various health related careers and topics. Each year approximately 160 students are selected by their teachers to participate in the fair.

Program outcomes:

1. Participants will be exposed to a diversity of health career choices, from medicine, nursing and allied health fields.

2. Participants will gain a greater understanding of the academic preparation and time commitment needed to succeed in their desired health career field.

3. Participants will pursue formal and informal mentoring programs through networking at the Health Professions Fair.

4. Participants will gain a better understanding of the intersectionality of health professions and the benefits of interprofessional education.

“I went to the Health Professions Fair and really enjoyed the panel discussion on addictive behaviors! It was very insightful to hear the opinions from my peers and interesting facts from doctors on a topic that many young adults have questions about. I believe that this was a very successful fair and resulted in making my interest in patient-doctor relationships grow. I’m so grateful that I got the opportunity to attend. ”
