Stanford Clinical Opportunity for Residency Experience (SCORE)

SCORE is an opportunity for fourth-year and qualified third-year students to experience a visiting clinical elective at Stanford School of Medicine. Students underrepresented in medicine (URM), socially, economically, or educationally disadvantaged, and others whose backgrounds and experience would diversify their clinical fields are welcome to apply. The student must be in good standing in an MD or DO degree program at a school accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education or Education Department of the American Osteopathic Association.

SCORE Details 

The visiting student will spend a four-week elective in the clinical departments at Stanford Health Care, or Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital. The choice of subspecialty will be made in conjunction with the department and will depend on availability of that elective and the completion of required information for visiting students.

SCORE Provides

• A $2,000 stipend for incidentals
• Housing for duration of the rotation
• Waiver of the $200 standard application fee
