Nationwide Children’s Hospital – Underrepresented in Medicine Visiting Student Elective Scholarship Program

Deadline: May 15, 2021

At Nationwide Children’s Hospital, we know that preparing for residency training begins before medical school ends.

We value diversity in our Pediatric Residency Training Program because we know diversity improves patient care and enhances our educational mission.

That’s why we welcome medical students who are Underrepresented in Medicine (URM) from U.S. medical schools to apply for our subinternship.

Benefits of the program:

  • $1000 stipend for travel and living expenses
  • Residency interview with Nationwide Children’s pediatric residency program during the experience
  • Housing provided by Nationwide Children’s Hospital
  • Four week inpatient subinternship experience at a free-standing quaternary-care, nationally recognized pediatric institution
  • Course credit from home institution via application through AAMC supported VSAS/VSLO
  • Inclusion in resident conferences and activities
  • Mentorship by residents, faculty and medical students as well as residency program leadership
