Thomas Jefferson University – Sidney Kimmel Medical College Internal Medicine Externship

This rotation provides an opportunity for underrepresented minority students to have a month-long clinical experience in the Department of Medicine at Jefferson where they can get to know the institution, department, and residency program.  This opportunity is for students who anticipate applying for a residency in internal medicine. This rotation may be done in the months of June, July, August, or September.

Accepted applicants will be provided with a stipend that they may use to cover housing and/or transportation expenses.

Student Qualifications:

-Currently enrolled full-time 3rd year medical students in good academic standing at an LCME accredited medical school.

-Students must belong to a group currently considered underrepresented in medicine: Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native American, Pacific Islander/Native Hawaiian

-Students must be planning to apply for residency in Internal Medicine
