Class of 2017
Hometown: Saint Louis, MO
Undergrad: University of Pennsylvania, Biological Basis of Behavior and Classics
I couldn’t be more excited about returning to my hometown of St. Louis and joining the WashU Med family. I was actually born in Jewish Hospital in 1990 (before the merger of Barnes and Jewish), so this has been a literal homecoming for me.
I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2012, majoring in Biological Basis of Behavior (Neuroscience) and minoring in Classical Studies. In college, I participated in research projects in the fields of neurosurgery and trauma surgery at HUP.
After my four-year stint in Philadelphia, I found my way back home. I took a gap year before matriculating, during which time I taught 4th-6th grade mathematics at City Academy in North St. Louis.
What excites me most about joining Washington University School of Medicine (WUSM) is the opportunity to form lasting relationships with some of the nation’s best clinicians and researchers. I also look forward to serving as a mentor to the next generation of medical and premedical students. Although I am undecided as to my future field, I intend to pursue my interests in neuroscience and surgery at WUSM.
