Hometown: Twin Falls, Idaho
Undergraduate Institution: The College of Idaho
Growing up and graduating college in small towns in Idaho, I was nervous yet excited to move to St. Louis. I had obtained my degree in Biology from The College of Idaho and looked forward to using the immense privilege of a college education to pursue my passion of science and people. While I miss the mountains and nature that I used to once call home, I have never been happier to be at Washington University to pursue a medical education. The culture of innovation and community values is what drew me here and I immersed myself right away. Already, the friends, physicians, and faculty I have had time to get to know have changed the way I view the world and have challenged me to improve myself. Besides medicine, research and education also heavily interest me. As a student here, I have had the opportunity to reach out to leading physicians to work on my own research interests in oncology and now work with the faculty and administration to serve my fellow students as their class president. While I have not yet decided on a specialty field, I know the mentorship here will help me develop my interests and skills to provide me with a lifetime of success and I feel very fortunate to now call this place home.
